Apparently, the Dallas Observer prefers the controversy and allegations of misconduct against one of their writers – which, if true, would get him fired from any reputable publication – to settling the matter.

The Dallas Observer’s Patrick Williams is criticizing me for “slinging the mud” and not doing a proper investigation.

Observer Editor Julie Lyons claims to have telephone records proving the phone number from which the obscene phone calls came did not belong to Observer writer Matt Pulle. Williams claims the phone records exist and prove Pulle’s innocence.

Conveniently, Williams omits the fact that I asked to see the records and Lyons refused to provide them. (Phone records – if they are not forged – could repudiate the sheriff’s report – something which listening to bad quality audio recordings and claims of innocence from the parties involved could not do.)

I guess The Observer needs the publicity.

I can’t wait to see William’s threatened retaliation in the Observer next week.
